1. How do you know if hiring a run coach is right for you? The following list highlights the key reasons that runners tell us.
- You know you can put in the time and effort but you want to know where this time will be best spent based on your personal circumstances, you want to train smart.
- You would like to fast track your improvement
- You want some accountability
- You have noticed a plateau in your performance
- You would like a structured training program specific to your needs
- You want to know the one thing that you need to do each training set to get you closer to your goal
2. Do you work with runners interstate or overseas?
Absolutely. Due to the online software that we use (Training Peaks) and the detail contained within our program we love working with clients online and find they achieve great success.
3. I’m new to endurance running, shouldn’t I wait to get a coach?
Quite to the contrary, in fact you have the most to gain! Our specialty is working with motivated runners new to ultra running.
4. What’s wrong with just going out running?
There is nothing wrong with just going out running; we love to do that as well. But if you have a particular race or specific event you are targeting then periodization of your training will give you the best possible chance to reach your individual optimal performance and have your best possible race.
5. What if I train in a squad or with other friends already? Can I still do that?
Certainly. We make sure to see if you already train with other training partners or squads and look to include this into your program. In some instances we will give you challenges or guidelines on what we would like you to do within these sessions. Often we find that if the other runner or runners are not coached they enjoy when you bring a planned set along.
6. What if I want to cross train?
That is certainly not a prob. We can outline that into your program and suggest where it would compliment your existing training. Likewise should you not want to cross train that’s not a problem either.
